Jon Petersen, PGA Leads Team To Capture National Car Rental PGA Pro-Am Series Event

Lincoln, NE. – Area amateur and PGA Professional golfers teed off for final of two National Car Rental PGA Pro-Am Series at Wilderness Ridge G.C.  Professional and Amateur golfers were welcomed to perfect scoring conditions and Tom Athy, Golf Course Superintendent and his team had the course in exceptional condition.  Shane Zywiec, PGA of Highlands G.C. was on form as he posted an impressive bogey-free three-under-par 68 to capture the professional title.  Zywiec the multiple time OMEGA Nebraska Section PGA Player of the Year this was his best performance of the year thus far.  Close on his heels was Jon Petersen, PGA of Tiburon G.C. and Kyle Schellpeper, PGA of Oak Hills C.C. who posted a solid round of one-under-par 70.  Schellpeper was three under-par with two holes left on his round but some untimely bogeys on #17 and #18 cost him the chance to catch Zywiec.

China's Xi visit to Hong Kong confirmed: reportPresident Xi Jinping will come to Hong Kong next week to mark 20 years since the city was handed back to China by Britain, local media said, in a visit that will be incendiary to activists. Although widely expected, officials have not so far said whether Xi will make the trip, his first to Hong Kong since becoming president in 2013.
