Petersen, Vermeer and Baranowski Paces The Field At First Professional Event Of 2017

Omaha, Nebraska – Despite gusty winds and tough playing conditions there was some outstanding golf played at the first in-state Nebraska Section PGA event of the year at The Players Club at Deer Creek.  Jon Petersen, PGA and Ryan Vermeer, PGA of Tiburon G.C. and Anthony Baranowski, PGA of Shadow Ridge C.C. posted an impressive three-under-par 68 to pace the field and finish in a three-way tie for the low professional title.  Petersen made five birdies on his round but an untimely double-bogey on his third hole of the day prevented him from a perfect round of golf.  Vermeer got off to solid start but he finished by birding his final two holes of the day to tie his team partner, Petersen.  Baranowski made the most birdies of the day with seven but a few bogies hindered him from a spectacular day of golf.
